An interesting year coming to an end..

I always get a little reflective on the year when New Years is among us. 2008 was an interesting year! There were some sad times, and some happy times. I can't believe how fast time flies! Ehh... i'll be 30 before I know it. 2011 is quickly approaching :). Here are some things I want to accomplish in 2009.

1. Get to the gym atleast 5 times a week! Go before work. During the month of December. I have slacked considerably! I will be healthier if I go!

2. Be better at staying in contact with people. Sometimes I forget to call people. And then 6 months pass and I realize, I need to call whomever. I need to be a better friend! :(.

3. I need to stop being so shy! I am very shy around men. That is probably one reason I am not married. I am content being single. However, around the holidays I always get a little depressed that I am not married with kids.

4. I need to do things to better myself. LOL. Sometimes I am so concerned for others that I forget about myself. Which is not a bad thing, but sometimes I just need to do stuff for myself.

5. I want to go on vacation somewhere. While this really isn't a resolution it's a wish ;). I need to go somewhere with a friend.

I am actually glad that 2008 is almost over! It's been a crappy year due to the economy, deaths, people being sick etc. I am just looking for a new start to a new year! I hope everyone has a Happy New Year. Be safe!

So very grateful...

It's that time of year to be thankful for all that has been given to me and to all of us. This Christmas has been a "different" year. I have not been working since Thanksgiving which has been AWESOME! And most of my Christmas shopping was done months ago. I decided this year to pick a name of an Angel Tree and purchase a needy child a gift. I bought him a pair of $50 van shoes. His name is Alex and he is 10 years old. It is great doing something like that. Next year I am planning on doing more for some needy kids. It brings me great joy! I also LOVE giving gifts, and have bought all of those near and dear to me gifts. I have given most out, but still have the ones for my family left. :). I have been overwhelmed by my friends generosity this Christmas. I love each and everyone one of my friends. I could not ask for better friends. I have a great family whom I love! My 2 siblings and I ocassionally have falling outs mainly because of our age differences but I still love them. I hope that all of you have a VERY MERRY Christmas and a joyous and wonderful New Year...

I had the Christmas Spirit, now I don't!! :(.

AHH! This has been a crappy day! First, I have the stomach flu! Second..yesterday my cd player in my car started acting funny, and it malfunctioned and right now the battery is completely dead! So, now I need a new stereo GRRR! Atleast my mom and grandma will get me a gift card to circuit city for christmas so I can put a new one in!

Utah is going to the Sugar Bowl :)

I couldn't be more happy for the Utes! WOOHOO! They are going to play Alabama on January 2nd. After Alabama lost to Florida they are 12-1 and Utah is 12-0. Even if Utah loses, they still had one heck of a season....

GO UTES!!!!! Let's go 13-0!

Adventures of Miss Fifi and me!

My friend Felice and I both have time off from work! YAY for furlough! So, before we were laid off from work for 7 weeks we put together our own version of a "Bucket List". It's not a list of what we want to do before we die but what we want to do before we go back to work. In the past 2 weeks we have crossed off a number of those activities off our list.

Monday November 24th..
We went to this restaurant in Layton called "Holy Smoke" I must say the best BBQ'd cheeseburger I have ever had. Yum! Then we went and watched the movie Twilight. We giggled a lot. :). I loved the books and loved the movie. I made her laugh at comments I was saying during the movie :).

Tuesday December 2nd...
Felice came over and we went and got Chinese for lunch watched a comedy special we had both been wanting to see on my On Demand and watched a few episodes from one of my favorite shows :). We had a lot of fun! We tend to have a lot of fun together.

Thursday December 4th..

Our friend Stacey was supposed to go with us, and we had invited Felice's mom Laurell to go but both Stacey and Laurell could not go. YAY! Laurell is retiring today! :). Anyway, we jumped on front runner and went to Salt Lake, and then jumped on trax and went to Sandy to the Festival of Trees! It was only $4 bucks to get in! All proceeds go to benefit Primary Children's hospital! It was fun. There were many gorgeous trees! We decided that we are gonna decorate one and sell it next year in the show all proceeds will go to the hospital. Stupid me didn't eat a decent meal before we went so after being on Frontrunner for an hour, and Trax (which was really bumpy) I ended up getting a bad headache. So after we were done at the Festival of Trees, we decided to go to eat at the Cheesecake Factory. I had such a bad headache that I ended up breaking out into a cold sweat, and throwing up half of my meal. What a waste of 15 bucks!! We didn't even get cheesecake. Felice looked a little worried about me being sick. LOL. We went to Fashion Place mall where I laid my head on a table and used my jacket as a pillow and closed my eyes for 20 minutes. Felice said a lot of people looked at me like I was homeless LOL. I just had a horrible headache. Riding back to the Salt Lake Station I almost threw up twice and I had to talk to Felice with my eyes closed. I was having bad motion sickness. Frontrunner was a smooth ride and after Felice got off in Layton I slept on the way back to Ogden. I went home took more headache medicine and went to sleep. I need to talk to my doctor about my migraines I get them quiet often!

Felice and I have more plans next week to go and just have fun since we don't have to work for about another 5 weeks! It's heavenly!

Life changes????

So, I have been applying for some jobs out of Utah. I just feel like it's "time" to get out Utah and do some exploring of other states. I had a phone interview the other day for a job in Washington D.C. It pays awesome and they would pay for me to go to school also. Plus they pay for relocation costs. I would definitely come back and visit Utah a lot. And I would deeply miss my friends and family if I did decide to go. Who knows where the future will take me with this!

Twilight and UTAH FOOTBALL!!!

So, I just got back from the UTAH game! The Utes defeated BYU! The score was 48-24!! WOOHOO! We are 12-0! We're going to the BCS and now we are Mountain West Champions!!! GO UTES!!! I knew BYU wouldn't win us this year. They will probably go to the Las Vegas Bowl. But who cares. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against BYU, I just don't like their sports teams...

GO UTES!! WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!! :).

Since the Celine Dion Concert was postponed I went with a friend last night at 10:45 to see Twilight and I absolutely loved it. While the book was better I thought the movie gave the book justice! I can't wait to go again!!!

53 days of pure bliss..

So, as most of you know I work for the IRS. Well, I volunteered furlough. I have not had a break in 2 1/2 years. :). Today was my last day until January 12! YEEHAW! I have lots of money in the bank. I get max on unemployment. :). Oh yeah and.... I am almost done Christmas shopping!! WOOHOO!

Note to Cindy :) ---- GO UTES!!!! The Cougars are going DOWN!!!! WOOT! Gooooooooo UTES!!!! 12-0 baby!

Sad :(

Celine Dion's concert was postponed due to her being sick :(. Sad....

This coming weekend is gonna R-O-C-K!!!

This next coming weekend is gonna rock. Right after work Friday I am jumping on front runner with my friend and we are going to the Celine Dion concert down in Salt Lake City! We bought tickets last NOVEMBER! I will get up early Saturday and work out and then get ready to go to Salt Lake to the hill to watch THE UTES win BYU! WOOHOO! 12-0 baby! It's gonna be an awesome game. I love having season football tickets. I don't think Utah will have a "shut out" or whatever you call it with the cougars I think it'll be close like it always is. But Utah will win and get a BCS Bowl game bid! Looking forward to that!!! :). Oh and somewhere in next weekend I will be squeezing some time into watching the new "Twilight" movie! Looking forward to that! I love those books! (Thanks to Cindy for buying me the books last Christmas!).

I've lost 2 lbs!!!

I am actually really into working out now. I am proud to report. I have lost 2 lbs in 2 weeks! I know what your thinking... big deal?!! Well, it's a big deal to me. I've gone to the gym 6 days a week. Have stopped drinking pop, and have started to eat better. I LOVE LADY FITNESS! My personal trainer has me on this workout plan. And it is awesome. I really like the staff there. Hard work will pay off in the end. I can't wait for you all to see the NEW ME!!!

U of U 10-0!!!

YAY! UTAH WON (Barely)!!!!!! However, it was a still a win. We ate some horned frogs tonight. Mighty tasty! It was an intense game. It was FREEZING! Utah will be eating Cougar for dinner Nov. 22nd...

OBAMA WINS BY A LANDSLIDE!!!!

As if you guys did not know that already. Obama won! I am so happy! In my first election I voted for Al Gore which never really did matter in the scheme of things. Then in 2004 I voted for Bush (stupidest thing I could have done). Part of me feels bad for McCain. I think he was doomed because of Bush. I have nothing against McCain rather than I just didn't really like him. I think it is time for a change in America and McCain just wasn't what America wanted. My vote in the scheme of things in Utah did not matter. But, at one time women could not vote. And now I take pride in voting. I was able to watch history tonight. I believe that Obama will do what he says he will do. After Obama spoke and Joe Biden came out and the two of them and their wives all joined hands and raised their hands I am not gonna lie I teared up a bit. For once maybe America will be united.

We will see you on January 19, 2009 President Obama! YAY! Bush is almost out of office!

I did vote for Jon Huntsman for govenor :). Federally we need help! :).

UNIVERSITY OF UTAH 9-0!!!!

The U of U football game just ended. And they won! It wasn't their best game but luckily they won! The last 3 games of the year will be against TCU, San Diego State and BYU! I am worried about them playing TCU! I know they will win BYU this year hopefully! YAY! They are playing in OUR HOUSE! I hope we go 12-0 and win our bowl game! My next 2 home games against TCU and BYU will be awesome! I just have to say... GO UTAH! GO UTAH! GO UTAH! GO UTAH! GO UTAH! GO UTAH! GO UTAH! GO UTAH! GO UTAH! GO UTAH! GO UTAH! GO UTAH! GO UTAH!

Today I had the opportunity to go to a Weber State game with my friend Felice and her family. They aren't having a bad season this season. They are doing pretty good. The Utah games are a lot more rowdy and they have a lot more people but I still enjoyed myself! The game got a little boring so Felice and I just talked and ocassionally watched the game. :). WEBER WON! :). It was definitely a football Saturday! :). I also did some Christmas shopping with Maryann today. That was fun!

HELP! Football! It's time to roll!

Now that I have been working days I am very tired come the weekends, so I cut my Halloween Night short! :). Okay, I do not know what I am doing with this blog. I don't know how to add people, change my background or do anything for that matter! HELP!!! Tomorrow I am going with my friend Felice to the Weber State Football game. They actually are not doing bad this season! I've been having withdrawls from football! The last Utah game I was at was Oct. 18th!! The next home game they play TCU! Let's hope we win! On Wednesday I signed a 3 year contract with lady fitness to get in shape. My friend Maryann and I are going to be workout buddies. I only have to pay $16.00 a month! That's because I got the IRS discount! So, $16.00 is nothing!! :) Yahoo! Wish me luck! And I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me what I am doing with this website. I am clueless!

Birthdays, Football and the Biggest Loser..

I had a great birthday this year! 27 is not so exciting but I have a feeling it'll be a good year. :). Let's hope anyway. I went and visited one of my best friends Cindy that weekend. We only see each other maybe once a year. I have known Cindy 12 years. I count myself very blessed to have her in my life. We met in 9th grade. We were both new to the school. And the rest is history. I could not talk to Cindy for months or see her for a year but we seem to pick up where we last left off. She will be one of my life long friends. I love her very much! I arrived down in Orem on Friday October 3rd. We ate a delicious salad and reminisced! Her dear husband Bryan took care of her three kids and we had our "girl time". We went to a delicious sandwich shop and had a smoothie with our sandwich :). I purposely wore my University of Utah t-shirt to get a rise out of Cougar fans. I only got a few dirty stares :). We went shopping, and did more shopping and had a great time. On Saturday we did my favorite thing while I was down there. We went and visited her in-laws which was a lot of fun! :). Then we went to Gardner Village that evening with the kids. They have a lot of cute shops :). My favorite thing we did down there was we went on a carriage ride with a witch. It was so fun to see Erik, Grace and Kaden's reaction :). They had a fun time :). Then Sunday we went and visited Cindy's parents. That was a lot of fun. Everytime I see her mom she normally says how she thinks it neat that her kids still are in contact with their friends from high school. She didn't tell us the story this time :). We visited while the guys played Dungeons and Dragons :). I also got to see her brother Clifford and Cordell who were over there visiting. Cindy's parents and brother Clifford live in the most amazing neighborhood. It's so colorful and the houses are all so unique. We went on a long walk through the neighborhood. I told Cindy I would love to own a purple house in this neighborhood. I really want a house in that neighborhood! :). Then we went home. Monday morning people started texting me at 6am! My birthday was October 6th. I left Cindy's around 11am. She got new windows put in. :). (I am still waiting on pictures). I had an excellent time with Cindy! I can't wait to see her again! Then in the afternoon I went to lunch with Maryann. She took me to the Olive Garden. We split a piece of Pumpkin Cheesecake. It was delicious. I got my normal soup, salad and breadsticks like I normally do. We went shopping and I spent WAY TOO MUCH MONEY! I had dinner with my family that night. That was a lot of fun! That week I went to 7 different restaurants with 7 different friends :). And went 2 see the same movie twice! My favorites were going to the Pita Pit, The Greenery, and Red Robin (Thanks JESS)! I got very spoiled from my friends and family! I am very fortunate to have wonderful friends!



YAY! Football. As you most of you know I have University of Utah Football tickets. Currently we are 8-0! Woohoo! Go UTES! I am on Row 23 and have excellent seats. I am hoping that we go 12-0! I am a little nervous about playing TCU since they beat BYU! However, I have hope that they will win. I am looking forward to go going to the BYU vs. Utah football game November 22nd! The UTES ARE GONNA SMASH THE COUGARS!! :). My friend Felice got me into the games when she gave my family tickets to the game.



Okay, now onto the biggest loser. No, I am not talking about the TV show. My friend Maryann and I are going to do our own version of the Biggest loser. We are joining the gym and exercising every week 6 days a week! Then in May we are going to see who has lost the most weight and whoever does gets to pick where we are going on vacation to. It's time for me to get in shape. I look like a fat cow. :). So...yay for EXERCISE!!!

My first blog

Okay, so I know that nobody really knows that I have a blog yet but that is soon to change when I send out a mass email. :). My dear friend Cindy got me into blogging :). I would look at her page everyday to see the happenings in her and her family's life. :). Granted, I rarely ever have anything GRAND happen but atleast you can hear about all my little adventures I go on. I will be posting some new blogs here soon. :).
